Balvenie – 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask

Balvenie 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask is a Speyside single malt that spent 14 years in ex-bourbon casks. It then spent several months in rum casks that had previously held a rum blend, also attributed to master blender David Stewart. The nose offers sugar cane, creamy toffee, pineapple, papaya, dried banana chips, coconut and vanilla. On the palate, creamy rum notes and tropical fruit salad come first, followed by soft oak that turns drier and saltier. The finish is gentle and creamy, with toffee and vanilla lingering.
