This is a 14-year-old Balvenie from Speyside, bottled at 48.3% as The Week of Peat. It is the only smoky bottling from the distillery and is released in limited numbers each year.
The peat smoke of Speyside differs from that of Islay. Here it is described as elegant and gentle rather than forceful, and the whisky is also aimed at drinkers who do not usually choose peated styles.
