A 19 year old single malt from Balvenie, released as The Week of Peat and bottled at 48.3% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose pairs peat smoke with vanilla, honey and citrus, with roasted malt behind it and a mineral edge of smoke, soot and pine. On the palate there is earthy smoke, honey, creamy vanilla, cinnamon and black pepper, with a little citrus peel, then tar and liquorice.
The finish is medium in length, with lingering peat smoke, floral notes, cinnamon and ginger spice.
