Balvenie 1980 is a 15 year old Speyside single malt from the Single Barrel series, drawn from cask #7689. It was distilled on 15th July 1980 and bottled on 16th January 1996, at 50.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
For this series the Balvenie Malt Master picks casks that show the distillery's characteristic honey, vanilla and oak. Balvenie was built by the Grant family in Dufftown, next door to Glenfiddich, and its new make spirit is sweeter, more honeyed and very lightly peated.
