A 21 year old single malt released in 2021 as part of the Balvenie Stories series. The Second Red Rose looks back to an earlier Balvenie Rose, which was finished in Port pipes and took its name from the single red rose Margaret Douglas paid King James II as rent for staying in Balvenie Castle.
For this bottling, malt master David C. Stewart chose to finish the whisky in Australian Shiraz casks. They bring ripe fruit, touches of blackberry and peach, a helping of rich oak and a rosy hue.
