Balvenie 21 Year Old The Second Rose is Story No.5, a 2020 release of Speyside single malt bottled at 48.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle and supplied in a presentation tube.
The Malt Master first turned to port pipes for the colour he imagined they could create. Today The Balvenie's Second Red Rose is finished in Australian Shiraz casks, which give the whisky a distinctive blush and a sweetly vibrant, rounded depth of flavour.
The release also draws on the knowledge of head cooper Ian McDonald, who has worked with casks for 50 years at the distillery's on-site cooperage.
