Balvenie French Oak is a 16 year old Speyside single malt, in a 75cl bottle. It is a permanent release in the distillery's wood-finishing series.
The whisky was finished for nine months in French Oak Pineau des Charentes Rouge barrels. The sweet wine adds a slight viscosity to an already supple texture, bringing stone fruits and spice to the Balvenie malt character.
It offers richness without the heavier force that sherry casks can give.
