This is a 12 year old Speyside single malt Scotch from Balvenie, in a 70cl bottle. It was made using deeply toasted virgin oak casks from Kentucky, which had been seasoned by time as ex-bourbon barrels.
The nose brings sweet fudge and citrus zest, with oak vanilla, ginger and soft cinnamon. On the palate there is candied orange and lemon peel, vanilla toffee, butterscotch and delicate honey, with melted brown sugar and a little oak spice. The finish is rich and malty, with lingering oak vanilla and gentle spice.
