Balvenie – Tun 1509 - Batch 6 (70cl, 47.1%)

Balvenie – Tun 1509 - Batch 6 is a single malt whisky from Balvenie (Speyside). Bottled at 47.1% ABV, 70cl. This bottling is a follow on from the very popular Tun 1401 series by The Balvenie Distillery, which had 9 batches. Due to the success of Tun 1401, Balvenie used a bigger tun - Tun 1509 could hold four times as much liquid. Seven European oak Sherry butts and thirty-five American oak barrels were used and were married together for several months each. This bottle also comes with a diagram that details the main tasting characteristics of each of these 43 casks. This is the sixth batch of Balvenie's Tun 1509 single malt Scotch whisky.
