Barbera d'Alba 2024 from Fratelli Alessandria is a transparent ruby red with a frank aromatic profile: red cherry and raspberry mingle with light floral notes and a subtle spicy touch. On the palate it is immediate and fresh, supported by lively acidity; medium body and soft tannins make it agile and pleasant, with a clean, inviting finish. The taut, linear sip highlights a savoury drinkability without heaviness. Suited to everyday drinking but able to handle more structured pairings, it complements cured meats, ragu pasta, white meats and medium-aged cheeses, as well as regional dishes, mushrooms and savoury vegetable preparations. Serve fresh, around 16 to 18 C, after opening a few minutes earlier for added roundness.
