A Barbera d'Alba from Giacomo Fenocchio, with a bright ruby colour and violet reflections. Aromas include ripe red fruit, cherry and plum, with a light sweet spice note and field flowers. The palate shows lively acidity supporting the fruit, medium body, savoury tannins and a juicy texture, with a slightly mineral trail and a fruity, spicy finish of good persistence. It pairs with cured meats, tomato-based pasta, grilled white meats, semi-aged cheeses, pizza and simple ragu. Serve at 16-18 C; a short breathing time can soften rougher sensations.
