Barcelo Anejo is a rum from the Dominican Republic, produced by the Barcelo distillery, founded in 1930. It is aged in American oak barrels.
The rum has a warm amber colour. On the nose there are notes of vanilla, caramel, dried fruit, a light presence of spice and a touch of toasted wood. On the palate it is soft and balanced, with a sweet entry that develops into a medium-persistent finish where caramel and sweet spices mingle.
It can be enjoyed neat or used as a base for sophisticated cocktails.
