Bardstown Bourbon Company Chateau de Laubade Armagnac Finish Batch #2

This is the second collaboration between Bardstown Bourbon Company and Chateau de Laubade, a bourbon finished in Armagnac casks. It is a custom blend of two bourbons. The Kentucky bourbon, aged 12 years, is made from 75% corn, 13% rye and 12% malted barley. The Tennessee bourbon, aged 10 years, uses 84% corn, 8% rye and 8% malted barley. The Kentucky component stands up to the oak and the Armagnac, while the Tennessee component adds a hint of citrus alongside the floral character of the Laubade casks. Baked pear with nutmeg, cinnamon and sage leads, over toffee, brown sugar and almond. Vanilla bean, rich oak and golden raisin follow on the palate.
