This is a bourbon from Bardstown Bourbon Company, made in collaboration with the wine producer Silver Oak and bottled at 54% ABV.
It is finished in Silver Oak Cabernet barrels, which add wine character to the bourbon.
The nose is dark cherry, blackberry and rich vanilla, with toasted oak and caramel. On the palate come sweet caramel, dark chocolate and ripe red fruit, with spice, tobacco and a touch of tannin from the Cabernet barrels. The finish is long, with oak, spice and a little Cabernet sweetness.
