Bardstown Bourbon Company West Virginia Great Barrel Co. Blended Rye Whiskey (75cl, 55%)

This is a blended rye whiskey from Bardstown Bourbon Company, bottled at 55% in a 750ml bottle. It was made to celebrate the West Virginia Great Barrel Company and is Bardstown's first cooperage collaboration. The blend joins six-year-old Indiana straight rye, made from 95% rye and 5% malted barley, with twelve-year-old Ontario corn whiskey. It then spent ten weeks in cherry oak barrels toasted with infrared technology. It was released in November 2022. The nose is described as almond, cinnamon, potpourri and baked cherry over mint and herbal tea. On the palate come rye spice, creamed corn, sweet cinnamon and vanilla frosting with an oily mouthfeel, and the finish brings aged oak, rye spice, light leather and lingering warmth.
