Barolo DOCG Castellero Giacomo Fenocchio

A Barolo DOCG from the Castellero cru, made by Giacomo Fenocchio from Nebbiolo. The wine shows an intense garnet red colour with orange reflections as it ages. It has a rich bouquet of ripe red fruit, especially cherry and plum, with faded flowers, spice, tobacco and a subtle leather note. On the palate it is powerful yet balanced, with solid but silky tannins and well-judged acidity, leading to a long, persistent finish with a pleasant mineral note. It suits traditional Piedmontese dishes such as red meat, truffle-based dishes and aged cheeses, and is also a good candidate for ageing.
