A Barolo from the historic Cerequio vineyard, one of the most prestigious crus in the Barolo production zone. The grapes are hand-harvested in October, then gently pressed and fermented for about three weeks in stainless steel in contact with the skins, including pre- and post-fermentation maceration with submerged cap. Malolactic fermentation takes place in wood, and ageing lasts about 32 months in barriques and large oak barrels. The wine is bottled without filtration.
Intense ruby red, with enveloping aromas of ripe red fruit and subtle spices. The palate is full, showing fruity and citrus notes of strawberry, plum and cherry, with fine yet imposing tannins supporting a persistent structure. Balsamic notes appear on the finish.
