Barolo DOCG Ravera Giacomo Grimaldi

A Barolo from Cagliero, produced from Nebbiolo grown in the Ravera MGA in the Langhe, Piedmont. Ravera has marl and sandstone soils and a favourable microclimate. It shows a deep garnet colour with orange hues developing with age. The nose offers ripe red fruit, cherry and plum, with faded rose, tobacco, leather and spice from wood ageing. On the palate it has solid structure, present but finely polished tannins and a long, persistent finish with mineral and spicy notes. It pairs well with roast meats, braised dishes, truffle dishes and aged cheeses, and can also be enjoyed as a meditation wine.
