Barolo DOCG Ravera Vietti

A Barolo DOCG from the Ravera MGA in the Langhe, Piedmont, made by Vietti. The wine comes from calcareous and marl soils and is produced from Nebbiolo. It shows an intense garnet red colour. On the nose there are ripe red fruit, faded flowers, tobacco, spice, mineral and earthy notes. On the palate it is robust, with solid but elegant tannins and balanced acidity, leading to a long, persistent finish with mature fruit and a light chocolate and coffee note from wood ageing. It suits rich dishes such as red meat, game, mushroom dishes and aged cheeses.
