A Barolo Riserva from Cavallotto, produced at Castiglione Falletto in the heart of Barolo. The Cavallotto family has cultivated vines and made wine there since 1928. This Riserva is made only in the best vintages from Nebbiolo grapes grown exclusively in the Vigna San Giuseppe vineyard. Ageing takes place partly in large Slavonian oak barrels and partly in bottle. It is an intense garnet red with orange reflections developing with age. The nose is complex, with ripe red fruit, faded flowers, tobacco, leather, spice and a mineral undertone. The palate is powerful yet balanced, with mature, silky tannins and lively acidity, leading to a long, satisfying finish.
