Baron de Sigognac Vintage Armagnac 2002

This is a 2002 vintage Armagnac from Baron de Sigognac, a small Bas-Armagnac house making traditional single-estate brandy on an antique alambic armagnacais column still. It has spent over two decades maturing in oak casks. The house character shows in notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla, with orange peel, dried fruit and butterscotch. The finish is drier and more austere than a cognac's, with marzipan and hazelnut.
