Barrell Bourbon Batch 37 is a cask strength straight bourbon in a 75cl bottle.
The nose opens with sour Granny Smith apple, salted caramel and peach sun tea, with honey, cardamom and toffee alongside. On the palate it starts zesty, with orange liqueur and candied ginger, then green cardamom and a whisper of anise. Spiced orange, pine needles, banana and dark chocolate follow. The finish is warming and lingering, with spiced pineapple upside-down cake, cocoa, orange zest and toffee.
With a splash of spring water, it turns towards pound cake, whipped cream and candied orange peel, balanced by banana custard and toffee.
