This is a 12-year-old bourbon from Barrell Craft Spirits, part of its Cask Finish Series. The whiskey was distilled in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee and Wyoming, and bottled in Kentucky at cask strength, 54.25% ABV.
After the initial 12 years it was given a secondary maturation in hand-selected French oak barrels toasted at different levels. It is a limited release.
The nose shows nutmeg, allspice and toasted hazelnut. The palate has creamy vanilla, caramelised butter, rounded wood and a note of leather. The finish is balanced, with firm tannins, an earthy character and lingering spice.
