Barrell Bourbon Foundation is a blend of straight bourbons from Barrell Craft Spirits of Louisville, Kentucky, in a 75cl bottle. The barrels come from Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Maryland and range from 5 to 9 years old.
The derived mash bill is 73% corn, 23% rye and 4% malted barley, and the bourbon is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).
The nose offers caramel, vanilla and orchard fruit with a little rye spice. On the palate come corn sweetness, baking spice and oak, followed by a warming finish in which vanilla and spice linger.
