Barrell Bourbon Tale of Two Islands is a blend of straight bourbons from Indiana and Maryland, finished in casks with an unusual history. Barrell Craft Spirits first used previously-held Islay single malt Scotch casks to mature a small amount of Jamaican rum, starting in 2018.
In 2023 the blending team returned to those casks and finished the bourbon in them, so the wood carried smoky Islay character alongside the Jamaican rum's tropical fruit and molasses.
It is bottled at 118.22 proof in a 750ml bottle, and has a rich mahogany colour.
