Barrell Bourbon Vantage is a cask-strength blend of straight bourbons at 57.22% ABV, in a 750ml bottle. The whiskeys were distilled in Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee and blended in Louisville, Kentucky by Barrell Craft Spirits. It was launched in 2022 as an ongoing release.
Each component is finished separately in a different virgin oak, Mizunara, French or toasted American, and the three are then combined.
Tasting notes describe a nose of crème brûlée, chocolate pudding, tarragon, warm cola, incense and grilled pineapple. The palate is sweet and oily with espresso and maple syrup, and the finish brings green grapes, red plums, za'atar, crystallised ginger and Szechuan peppercorns.
