Armida is a cask-strength bourbon from Barrell Craft Spirits, blended from straight bourbons distilled in Tennessee and bottled in Louisville, Kentucky. It comes in a 750ml bottle, uncut and unfiltered, with the strength varying from batch to batch.
Three bourbons were finished separately in pear brandy, Jamaican rum and Sicilian amaro casks, then blended together. Founder Joe Beatrice named it after his mother, Armida.
The nose is ripe and floral, with pear. The palate is honeyed and grain-forward, with dried fruit, cola and herbal edges, and dry citrus set against tropical sweetness. The finish is bittersweet molasses, closing dry and mineral.
