This is a cask strength, non-chill filtered bourbon, the first edition in Barrell Craft Spirits' Cask Finish Series. It is a blend of straight bourbons aged between 7 and 15 years from Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee, with a mash bill of 78% corn, 18% rye and 4% malted barley.
The blend is finished in barrels from Gascony that previously held Armagnac, and is bottled at 56.5% in a 75cl bottle.
The nose brings pineapple, cola, grape soda, caraway, pumpernickel, ginger beer and menthol. The palate is syrupy and bold, with hazelnut, black walnut, tobacco, chocolate-covered espresso beans, pithy orange and watermelon. The finish is long, with clove, oolong tea, dried plum, pecan pie and custard.
