Barrell Dovetail is a cask strength American whiskey blend, bottled at 61.45% in a 750ml bottle. It combines a 10-year-old Indiana whiskey finished in Dunn Vineyards Cabernet barrels with an 11-year-old Tennessee bourbon finished in black strap rum casks and Late Bottled Vintage Port pipes.
The whiskeys were distilled in Indiana and Tennessee, then blended and bottled in Louisville, Kentucky.
The nose is sweet and pastry-like, with canele, panna cotta, walnut oil, leather, damson jam and sloe gin. The palate is darker and spicier, with cocoa, molasses, burnt marshmallow, cola, nutmeg and black pepper. The finish brings rose jelly and chestnut honey, ending on hazelnut, eucalyptus and mint.
