Barrell Foundation Bourbon is a blended bourbon from Barrell Craft Spirits of Louisville, Kentucky, bottled at 50% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It combines seven whiskeys from Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee and Maryland, aged between 5 and 9 years.
It is the company's first bourbon proofed down from barrel strength. The blend shares a composite mashbill of about 73% corn, 23% rye and 4% malted barley.
The nose offers honey, candied strawberry, dark cherry and grilled cantaloupe, with lavender, cocoa and cardamom beneath. The palate brings maple pecans, dark chocolate, cinnamon and bittersweet coffee. The finish is creamy and medium-long, with cinnamon, toffee and vanilla pudding.
