Foundation Double Barrel is a blended bourbon from Barrell Craft Spirits, bottled at 50% in a 75cl bottle. It combines bourbon from Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee and Maryland, aged between 5 and 9 years, all made from a mashbill of 73% corn, 23% rye and 4% malted barley.
After the first maturation, the blend spends between three months and two years in new toasted American oak casks. The secondary oak is toasted rather than charred.
The nose shows caramel, milk chocolate, baked apple and toasted marshmallow. The palate is crisp, with tropical fruit, caramelised oak, raisin and dry leather. The medium-long finish brings allspice, white pepper, burnt brown sugar and honey.
