Barrell Private Release #DHC4 is a cask-strength blend of Kentucky whiskeys, bottled at 58.93% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The largest component is an 18-year-old Kentucky whiskey. The blend was married in a single cask, then finished in a Pinot Noir barrel from Marine Layer's Jentoft Vineyard. It is non-chill filtered.
It comes from Barrell's Private Release series, in which each release is a cask-strength blend married in one barrel and finished individually.
Chestnut in colour, it has a full aroma of dark berries. The palate layers dark berries, silky vanilla and a hint of oak, and the finish is long and balanced.
