Barrell Rye Whiskey is a five-year-old cask strength rye, bottled at 117.5 proof (58.75%). It combines rye distilled in Poland with rye distilled in Indiana, using Polish malted rye, Indiana rye and malted barley.
The Indiana rye was aged in new charred oak barrels, and the Polish rye in new charred oak barrels from World Cooperage. Ageing took place in Poland, Indiana and Kentucky, and the whiskey was bottled in Kentucky.
The nose opens with Linzertorte, Ovaltine and s'mores chocolate, then cardamom, gingerbread and dried currants. Cinnamon and malt lead the palate with lemon zest and caramel, and the finish brings black pepper and seawater salinity.
