This is a small batch sour mash whiskey from Michter's of Kentucky, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
Sour mash whiskey was the distillery's best-selling product in the 70s and 80s. It disappeared when the distillery closed in 1989 and returned in 2012. The name refers to the method: part of the mash from the previous fermentation is added to the next batch.
The flavour opens with delicate cinnamon that moves into nutty tones, and it finishes lightly spicy with a touch of pepper.
