Seagrass is a blended American rye whiskey from Barrell Craft Spirits of Louisville, Kentucky, made from whiskey sourced from several distilleries. It is bottled at 59.2% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The rye is finished in three kinds of cask in turn: Martinique agricole rum, Madeira wine and apricot brandy. Each adds its own layer over a spicy rye base.
The nose brings tropical fruit and fresh herbs over rye spice. The palate is full-bodied, with vegetal rum character, Madeira fruit and apricot sweetness, and the finish is long and warming.
