Barrell Vantage is a blended straight bourbon from Barrell Craft Spirits, bottled at natural cask strength. This batch is 114.44 proof (57.22% ABV), in a 750ml bottle.
It blends straight bourbons from Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee, each finished separately in a different virgin oak: Mizunara, French oak and toasted American oak, at varying char and toast levels. The finished bourbons are blended afterwards, rather than blended first and then finished.
The nose combines crème brûlée, coconut oil and chocolate pudding with tarragon, nutmeg, cola, incense and grilled pineapple. The palate is oily, with espresso, cola, brown sugar, maple syrup and rye pumpernickel spice. The finish is long and spicy, with green grapes, red plums and crystallised ginger.
