Barrell Whiskey Triple Rum Cask Finish is a cask strength blended whiskey from Barrell Craft Spirits of Louisville, Kentucky, bottled at 71.12% ABV (142.24 proof) in a 75cl bottle.
It combines American and Canadian whiskeys, some up to 25 years old, finished in Jamaican, Barbados and St. Lucian rum casks. The strength is what gives the bottling its 'hazmat' name, as it is above the alcohol threshold for standard air transport.
The nose brings tropical esters, caramelised sugar, orange blossom and roasted nuts. The palate is dense and oily, with molasses, lychee, honeydew, toasted oak and burnt sugar, leading to a long, evolving finish.
