Barton 1792 Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, bottled at 46.85% in a 1 litre bottle. It is the distillery's high-rye flagship, and the name marks 1792, the year Kentucky became a state. The mash bill is corn, rye and malted barley. The barrels used are aged only on the top floors of the warehouses and removed at peak maturity. The nose is vanilla, caramel and deep oak with baking spice and a hint of citrus zest. The palate is full-bodied, with bold rye spice, dark fruit, caramel, brown sugar and vanilla, plus black pepper and orange peel. The finish is long, with cocoa, drying cinnamon and balanced oak.
