Basil Hayden Cognac Cask Reserve is a limited edition Kentucky straight bourbon in a 75cl bottle, bottled at 40% ABV. It starts as the brand's high-rye bourbon and then goes through a secondary maturation in French Cognac casks. It was made by The James B. Beam Distilling Co.
The nose combines honey, vanilla, ripe pear, dried apricot, toasted oak and floral notes. The palate brings honey, vanilla bean, caramel, dried fruit, orange peel, cinnamon and gentle rye spice. The finish is long and silky, with sweet oak, honey and a delicate Cognac warmth.
