Basil Hayden's 10 Year Old is a Kentucky bourbon made from the brand's high-rye recipe and matured for ten years in new, charred American oak. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle, and released once a year.
The long maturation adds deeper layers of vanilla, toasted spice and seasoned oak to the lighter, spicier style of the standard Basil Hayden's, while keeping the gentle bottling strength.
The nose is led by oak, with char, vanilla and rye spice. On the palate, mature oak sits alongside caramel sweetness and warm pepper. The finish is long and lightly smoky, with a hint of char.
