Basil Hayden's Bourbon is a Kentucky bourbon made at the James B. Beam distillery, in a 1 litre bottle at 40% ABV. Its recipe uses a higher proportion of rye than other bourbons, which gives a spicier character.
The nose is delicate, with vanilla, caramel, mint and tea. The palate is soft and balanced, starting sweet before moving to a spicy, lightly peppery middle. The finish is fresh and persistent.
