Basil Hayden's Dark Rye Whiskey (75cl, 40%)

Basil Hayden's Dark Rye is a blended rye whiskey bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle by James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky. It combines Kentucky straight rye, Canadian rye from Alberta Distillers in Calgary, and a touch of California port blended in directly rather than used as a cask finish. Launched in October 2017, it was the first permanent addition to the Basil Hayden range. The nose is usually described as oak balanced with dark berries and molasses, the palate as caramel, dried fruit and oak with spice behind, and the finish as lingering dried fruit and rye spice.
