Basil Hayden's Toast is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 40% (80 proof). It is matured in new toast-charred oak barrels, which give it a dark amber colour.
The toasted wood and sweet caramel that the barrels contribute sit alongside the subtle complexity associated with the Basil Hayden's name.
The nose is toasted oak with dried fruit and caramelised sugar. The palate has toasted wood and vanilla with a light mouthfeel, and the finish is sweet caramel.
