This is a 13 year old Ledaig single malt from Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull, distilled in 2010 and bottled at a cask strength of 57.9% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and naturally coloured, and 297 bottles were filled. The whisky spent just over 11 years in a refill hogshead before moving in 2023 to a first-fill Chateau Talbot red wine barrique. Ledaig is the peated spirit made at Tobermory. It is Scotch Opening, the first limited edition in the Chess series, named after the chess opening. The label was designed by Toronto-based artist Alexander Perkins.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
