Wallace is an Australian red from Ben Glaetzer, blended from 72% Shiraz and 28% Grenache grown in the Ebenezer district of the Barossa Valley. It is bottled at 14.5% and comes in a 75cl bottle.
The grapes come from very old vines, some of them up to 120 years old, and only the best of them are picked. The Shiraz spends 16 months in mostly French oak, while the Grenache sees no oak, which keeps its light, fruity style. Gentle winemaking preserves the fruit without making the wine sweet.
It is a juicy, full-bodied red that suits lamb, beef, strong poultry and game, or can be enjoyed on its own.
