A 31-year-old Highland single malt from Ben Nevis, distilled in 1991 and bottled by Hunter Laing as part of its Old & Rare Platinum Selection. It comes from a single cask and is offered in a 70cl bottle.
It is bottled at a natural cask strength of 62.1%, non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring.
The nose is rich, with sherried dried fruits, dark chocolate, roasted nuts and spiced oak, with hints of leather and tobacco. The palate is full-bodied, with treacle toffee, figs, espresso, cinnamon, nutmeg and ripe black cherries. The finish is long, with molasses, cocoa, dried fruits and gentle spice.
