Ben Nevis Special Reserve is a blended whisky from the Highland distillery of Ben Nevis, which dates from 1825 and sits at the foot of Britain's highest mountain. It is bottled at 40% ABV and comes in a 70cl ceramic decanter.
Like the other blends from the distillery, it has a high proportion of single malt. The distillery's water runs down the mountain over red and grey granite.
The nose is lightly smoky with fine malt. The palate is firm and malty, sweet and full from the grain whisky. The finish is honeyed and spicy with a little smoke.
