Benchmark Bonded is a Kentucky straight bourbon distilled at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort and bottled in bond at 50% ABV (100 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
Being bottled in bond means the whisky comes from a single distilling season at a single distillery and spends at least four years in a federally bonded warehouse.
The nose is bright, with lemon-honey sweetness, vanilla extract, charred wood and wet leather. Oak and vanilla lead the palate, with honey mellowing to caramel and a spicy tobacco edge. The finish is short but sweet, with vanilla, honey and tobacco.
