Le Malté Brestois is a Breton whisky from Warenghem, matured in Gevrey-Chambertin casks from Denis Mortet. It is a single cask bottling at 55% in a 50cl bottle, released in an ultra-limited edition by Benjamin Kuentz.
The colour is amber with mahogany glints from the red wine cask. The nose starts with roasted cereals, then shows rancio, blond tobacco, fresh leather, currants, roasted almond and wild Voatsiperifery pepper.
The palate is soft and vinous, with red fruits and a slight sweetness. The finish is peppery, savoury and almost saline.
