BenRiach – 10 Year Old The Smoky (70cl, 46%)

This is a peated Speyside single malt from BenRiach, matured for a minimum of 10 years and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered. The whisky is matured in four types of cask: ex-bourbon barrels, virgin oak, Jamaican rum casks and toasted oak. Together they are said to add vanilla and honey, spice, tropical fruit and molasses, and caramelised sugars. In the glass, the smoke is described as gentle, sitting alongside orchard fruit, vanilla sweetness and warming spice.
